The primary level of Montessori education for children between the age of 2.6 years to 5.5 years, provides an integrated, holistic curriculum sensitive to the developmental standards of learners in their care. The important areas covered are:
CASA PROGRAM
Program includes phonetic sounds, Phonetic reading and writing phonograms, blends, digraphs, journal keeping, creative writing, poetry and parts of speech. Many activities in other areas, as well as in the large group, foster communication skills, vocabulary development, and the aspects of listening, speaking reading and writing.
LANGUAGE ARTS
Montessori mathematical materials concerned with number concepts, numerals, quantities, counting, introducing the decimal system, basic mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication division, fractions, reading clock and measurement.
MATHEMATICS
The natural environment becomes an extension of the Montessori classroom and the children delight in making connection with outdoor environment. Main topics includes Geography, History, Botany & Zoology.
CULTURE & SCIENCE
Sensory stimulation and manipulation not only aid in the development of maturing sense organs-but serve as starting point of intellectual growth. Sensorial activities mostly refine the child’s ability to discriminate, appreciate and understanding the world through the senses of sight, touch, smell taste and sound.
